We boast a range of various asbestos testing services, including basic sample testing of suspected ACM’s, to full asbestos management surveys and asbestos refurbishment & demolition surveys.

    Kent Asbestos Surveys

All surveys carried out by KD Asbestos follow recognised industry standards directed by HSE document HSG264, and the Control of Asbestos Regulations Act 2012.

It’s now a statutory mandate in the UK to manage asbestos containing materials within all trade premises, plus some residential scenarios where communal areas are present.

All reports issued by our staff are straightforward and easy to comprehend, outlining direct guidance on locations where asbestos has been found within your property, along with a breakdown of asbestos type, quantity and present condition. The survey will detail a thorough breakdown of our findings with determinations, plus a full laboratory report of materials examined and an asbestos register of the premises.

Nowadays, asbestos surveys are becoming more standardised for homebuyers, leaseholders and freeholders looking to buy, sell or occupy a Kent premises, with solicitors insisting both parties obtain an asbestos survey conducted during the early stages in advance of exchange and completion.

Whether you require a one-off asbestos survey for a single dwelling, or have multiple buildings requiring thorough inspection, we are more than ready to assist. With fully prepared teams ready to go right across the whole of Kent, our surveyors can be with you at short notice to inspect your building.

If you’ve already had an asbestos survey conducted, you should have key information available such as a Material Hazard Assessment, which provides a clear indication of how liable an asbestos containing material (ACM) is to discharging airborne fibres.

It is then up to the duty holder to evaluate the present risk that each asbestos containing material (ACM) poses based on the level of activity in the area where it was found, and then to produce an Asbestos Management Plan

As part of the proceeding management of asbestos containing materials (ACMs), constant observation post asbestos survey is required at regular intervals. Any ACM verified or suspected ACM will need to be reviewed periodically to check that it has not deteriorated or sustained damage. As a minimum, ACMs should be checked every six to twelve months.

    Kent Asbestos Testing

Asbestos testing should form a part of every asbestos inspection survey, no matter what age of building is concerned.

All potential hazardous materials should be checked by a fully-qualified asbestos surveyor, and then carefully removed to be taken away for review using microscopy techniques at a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Under normal circumstances, asbestos test results are normally ready for review within 48 hours with a certificate of analysis detailing the type(s) of asbestos present within the sample material tested.
